A new article of the Cheminformatics & Nutrition Group published at Future Medicinal Chemistry
Our article "Ephedrine as a lead compound for the development of new DPP-IV inhibitors" has just been accepted at the "Future Medicinal Chemistry" journal. In this article we describe the activity of several compounds from Ephedra as DPP-IV inhibitors.

We presented a poster at the "IX Seminario sobre Alimentación y Estilos de Vida Saludables" and won one the best oral commications.
We presented a poster at the "IX Seminario sobre Alimentación y Estilos de Vida Saludables. Nuevas Tecnologías, nuevos enfoques" that had place at Tarragona, the 20th and 21th of July. The poster presented part of the PhD thesis of Sarah Tomas-Hernandez and won one the prizes to the best oral communication. Congratulations to Sarah and all the team.

Summer school on “In Silico/In Vitro Approaches for Food Science”
Aleix Gimeno from our group has been at the summer school on "In Silico/In Vitro Approaches for Food Science" celebrated in Parma (9th September 2016). The event was focused on the needs of PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and early career researchers who wanted to increase their knowledge of computational and in vitro techniques applicable to food science. The Summer School is a joint initiative from the University of Parma, European Food Safety Authority EFSA, the Istituto Superiore di Sanitá, the University of Barcelona and the Virginia Commonwealth University.

Aleix Gimeno is awarded with a CSA Trust Grant 2015
Aleix Gimeno, PhD student of the Cheminformatics and Nutrition group, has been awarded with a CSA Trust Grant 2015. His award was used to attend the Cresset European User Group Meeting in June 2015.

We have published two new review articles, one reviewing the molecular fingerprint similarity search in virtual screening and the other reviewing the tools for in silico target fishing, at the "Virtual Screening" monographic issue from the Methods journal.
